The Dunwall Crown is an upcoming fanzine for the Dishonored series, focused on its aristocracy, in the style of a Victorian fashion magazine.We aim to focus on Dunwall's rich and powerful circa 1837; the lifestyles, events and dirty secrets of the fashionable elite.We are looking for writers, artists, and graphic designers to help bring our vision to life. This project will feature art pieces, written pieces (short-form fanfiction) and faux in-universe advertisements, all in theme and produced specifically for this zine. Curated for only the finest of societies!

A fanzine featuring aristocratic characters from the first Dishonored game. This zine is set circa 1837 and focuses exclusively on characters from the first game.Keep in mind that only upper-class characters are permitted; none of the protagonists or lower-class side characters will be featured. The zine is presented in the format of a faux-Victorian magazine, and all art and writing will reflect this.That being said, we would not want all of the writing to be done in the style of an article. Lifestyle magazines feature short stories, too, after all, and we want to include short-form fanfiction about characters from the game as well. Simply keep in mind the audience and consider what would be appropriate for an in-universe magazine.The zine will be sold digitally as well as physically. There will be preorders as well as merchandise. This is a nonprofit zine, meaning that most of the income will go towards charity, while preorders will cover the expenses involved in producing the zine (printing costs, merchandise, etc.). We want to be fully transparent about where the money goes, but keep in mind that we are still in the early stages of planning.Any money that isn't used for production will go towards the Palestine Children's Relief Fund, Doctors Without Borders, and World Central Kitchen.

Zine Rules

  • NO playable characters. This includes Corvo, Daud, Emily, and Billie.
    NOTE: Emily may be featured, but not the focus. This is set circa 1837, so she’d be a child. Ideally, we wouldn’t want more than one drawing/fic featuring her.

  • NO non-nobility characters/themes. Exceptions to this are Anton Sokolov, Hiram Burrows, Granny Rags (young version, ideally), and Farley Havelock (pre-game).

  • Aristocrat OCs are welcome.

  • Characters we’d like to feature are Miss White, The Boyles, Lord Shaw, Treavor Pendleton, Morgan and Custis Pendleton, and Jessamine Kaldwin.

  • Keep in mind the reason for the rigidity of these rules: This is a faux magazine for the rich and powerful. Characters like Daud, Samuel, Martin, etc are out of place and therefore off-theme.

  • Ideally, this whole zine should be curated for the Dunwall nobility. Keep in mind that this zine would not condemn the lifestyles of those reading it. So while social commentary is expected, it must not be overt.
    Example: A drawing of a watchman escorting the “riff raff” off the property, but the tagline says “Support your Local City Watch! Donate today! Keep your city safe!” etc.

Contributer Guidelines

  • All applicants must be at least 18 years old.

  • Contributors must create a new piece specifically for the zine.

  • No AI is to be used at any point during the process, under any circumstances. This includes using AI-generated prompts or ideas.

  • All communication will take place via Discord.

  • Full pieces are not to be shared on social media or in Discord servers until the mods give the green light to do so after publication.

  • We value communication in a project like this, so regular check-ins and updates are mandatory. The schedule can always be adjusted if a contributor is unable to finish their piece in time, but please discuss this with the mods!

Circa 1837! There's so strict time frame so to speak, but we are focusing on Dishonored 1 and the time before that."When will the Zine release? How long do I have to finish my entry?"
We can't give a definitive answer right now, for now we are thinking about March 2027, although there's no definitive schedule right now.
